Happy Easter!

  

Happy Easter!  Jaden now says "Baba" frequently, and sometimes even on command.   Mike was trying to teach him "Happy Birthday, Mama" this morning but I think that's a little too progressive, don't you think?  :)

We Have Tooth #2!

Mike and I were getting the boy ready for bed when I administered the usual Orajel and behold!  The second tooth!  It feels like it had just come through the skin but it's definitely there.  He also seems much calmer and has gained a bit of his appetite back this evening, which is a good sign.

I'll keep you posted on the tooth's progress. :)

Holy Cranky

I am NOT a fan of teething.  Jaden has been super cranky, super needy and won't sleep or eat much.  He cried it out for a good two and a half hours last night, between 1 and 3:30AM.  I had to end up rocking him to sleep because poor thing was so worked up.

And still...NO TOOTH!  His first tooth is actually visible now and sometimes you can see it when he smiles big, although that's pretty rare these days.  He's definitely not his usual self and it's pretty obvious.  Mike's family is back in town and he took the baby for a visit yesterday but unfortunately had to cut it short because of the baby's attitude.   I'm banking on seeing that tooth by this weekend or we're going to have a big problem.  This lack of sleep is really killing us.

New Toy

This music station is the favorite toy at daycare, so we decided to buy one to keep him entertained at home.

This picture pretty much sums up his attitude over the past few days. Irritable and needy.  

Jaden can now sit up on his own!  When I went to pick him up from daycare today, he was sitting in front of a play center, laughing at his image in the play mirror.  He seems to be proud of himself now that he has a different view of the world.  He gave me a big grin and behold, his first tooth is now noticeable!

Last night wasn't so bad but the previous two nights were just awful.   He woke up pretty much every hour howling in pain.  It appears that he has a short reprieve and then it will happen all over again until his second tooth shows itself.  I'll let you know when that happens... 

The Unhappy Camper

Jaden is NOT a happy camper.  He's in full teething mode and I expect that his second bottom tooth will make an appearance very soon.   He woke up about five times last night, so needless to say we're all exhausted today.  He apparently didn't nap all day either, so he will either crash and burn tonight and sleep all night or tonight will be like last night - disruptive and dramatic.  Let's hope it's not the latter because we simply don't have the energy for any round two.
